Have a Tesla, but despise the Wireless Charger? Love it Again with 3D Printing!

Ever since I got my pre-2021 Tesla Model 3, I’ve loved almost everything about the car—except for the clunky, outdated charging options for my iPhone. I always wanted something that looked like it belonged in the car from the start, but with all the convenience of Apple’s MagSafe system. That desire led me to tackle a new DIY project: designing and building a custom MagSafe-compatible mount for my Model 3’s center console. Throughout the process, I ran into plenty of design challenges, from getting the fit just right to making sure the installation didn’t require any permanent modifications. It was a rewarding process, and sharing my progress with the Tesla community brought a lot of helpful feedback, new ideas, and some fun conversations with other enthusiasts who were facing similar frustrations with their own setups.

After seeing how much value this project brought to Model 3 owners, I decided to keep the momentum going by creating two new 3D models specifically for the refreshed Tesla Model S and X. The first is a center console MagSafe mount designed to blend seamlessly with the updated interiors, offering a factory-like solution for MagSafe charging. The second model is a minimalist MagSafe puck mount for the S/X, giving owners a simple and clean way to integrate magnetic wireless charging into their cars. Both of these designs are available for anyone to print and use, and I hope they inspire other Tesla owners to customize and improve their own charging experience.
