F’n email spammers. Sometimes I think spammers deserve THE hardest incarceration sentences. Period! Fortunately, Seattle has the honor of holding [in custody] one of the Top 10 spammers in the world. Sometimes it’s difficult to forget that these spammers are people, like you and me… Right?
A 27-year-old man described as one of the worldâ€™s most prolific spammers was arrested Wednesday, and federal authorities said computer users across the Web could notice a decrease in the amount of junk e-mail.
Robert Alan Soloway is accused of using networks of compromised â€œzombieâ€ computers to send out millions upon millions of spam e-mails.
â€œHeâ€™s one of the top 10 spammers in the world,â€ said Tim Cranton, a Microsoft Corp. lawyer who is senior director of the companyâ€™s Worldwide Internet Safety Programs. â€œHeâ€™s a huge problem for our customers. This is a very good day.â€
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to empty the 1182 spam messages caught by Gmail today. 😉
